Organization and Paragraphs
Organization and Paragraphs:
refers to the overall structure of a piece of writing that guides readers. Within that structure, transitions show how ideas, sentences, and paragraphs are connected.
- a logical order to your writing based on the mode- Does it flow beginning, middle, and end in a narrative piece? Are your steps in chronological order if it is explanatory? etc.
- an introduction and conclusion
- use of transition words- first, second, then, finally etc.
- good paragraphs are at least five sentences
- a main idea sentence is usually first or last within the paragraph
- every paragraph is a single idea
