Step 1: Read the prompt carefully
Write a report explaining how to make or do something that is familiar to you. Choose words that make your report interesting to read and easy to understand. Explain all the steps and materials needed.
Purpose: Describe a familiar task
Audience: A friend or classmate
Step 2: Find a Topic
FINDING A TOPIC
- list activities you do at home, at school, or for fun. Circle the activities they could describe step by step.
- Which activity or activities would someone else find interesting. Consider writing about one of these topics in their report.
- Think about step-by-step instructions that people use regularly.
NARROW A TOPIC
How to Change a Light Bulb This is too simple. |
